In a major political move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet with President Droupadi Murmu to propose dissolving the 17th Lok Sabha in the wake of the general election results in 2024.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is making this step in an attempt to enter the next stage of its rule following the election, in which it won a resounding mandate.
The Prime Minister will formally request the dissolution of the present Lok Sabha during their meeting at Rashtrapati Bhavan, which is scheduled to take place.
This procedural process is necessary to bring the present assembly to an end and make room for the newly elected members to enter office as the 18th Lok Sabha takes over.
The BJP, which has ruled India since 2014, has triumphed once more, solidifying its position as the country's leading political force. It is traditional to dissolve the Lok Sabha after general elections in order to facilitate the establishment of a new government.
