Piyush Goyal labels the UPA tenure as a "failed experiment" and attacks Rahul Gandhi on his budget speech.

Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition, criticised Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday after he had antagonised the Modi administration in the Lok Sabha during the discussion of Union Budget 2.0 the day before. Gandhi had said that the BJP MPs, farmers, and labourers are all part of the "chakravyuh" that the NDA administration is constructing.

The opposition leader asserted that the middle class, which had embraced Prime Minister Modi's appeal for bang thalis, had been misled by the budget. Gandhi also took issue with the government's introduction of the budget's internship program, which gives young people the chance to intern at the top 500 national businesses.

"The decade of the UPA was a failed experiment, showcasing a failed government and governance model, which left the country and its people struggling," Goyal said in response to Gandhi's claims.

Additionally, the Union minister accused the Congress-led UPA administration of ignoring the legal promise for MSP in their budget statements.

He said, "P. Chidambaram, the Finance Minister at the time, asserted in 2004 that he inherited a robust economy. Around 8% growth was occurring at the time, 4% inflation was occurring, and the country's foreign exchange reserves were substantial given the size of the economy.

Goyal also took issue with the UPA administration handing PM Modi over a faltering economy. He declared, "They turned over a precarious economy that the entire world despised." They left behind extremely low foreign exchange reserves, limited growth, high inflation, and large budget deficits.

Gandhi denounced Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday, stating that the issue of paper leaks is the "biggest issue affecting the youth," and that she should have addressed it in her budget statement. He claimed that during the previous ten years, there had been seventy instances of paper leaks in the nation.
